The blazing Delora brings to mind medieval pyres and religious torture. It's the small, unexpected details: a skeleton, jumping from Witfhes grave like a jack-in-the-box, a gay scarecrow, naughty, Posh Shop flowers, a one-eyed sand beetle.
Delora appears through the whole story surrounded by flames. And watching her in action is the cutest thing. It took forever to finish since I took my sweet time marveling at all the extremely interesting, fantastical creatures. I'd also be curious how she managed to regain her flawless skin, after the big fire had allegedly destroyed her beauty. Almost everything is enchanted and animated with a sinister look about them. It was exceptional.
