Shadows: Price for Our Sins

It’s Halloween night, and Dylan and her fellow students have decided to throw a Halloween party at abandoned Stone Farm. Little do they know, their decorations aren’t the only things hanging around this spooky house. When the friends stumble upon an ancient artifact, they unwittingly open a portal to the underworld and release the souls of the Stone family, which were being held captive by Lord of Darkness Samhain! The enraged demon steals the souls of the students in revenge, but Dylan narrowly escapes his clutches. Can Dylan earn the help of the escaped spirits and save her friends? Play the game and find out for yourself – if you’ve got the guts.

For a greater challenge I suggest Expert Mode because Casual has a lot of sparkles assisting you. The Hint button can be used for HOS, actions in game play and navigation. The "sparkle" hint which helped with which to go was a nice addition. There are many portals, so use your map. I had to work for each one. The graphics were excellent and the music went along with the game play and story line. Hint button was very helpful, and so was the map and journal. The HO scenes are more difficult than the norm, with quite a few extra actions to perform in order to retrieve all the objects. Although it has a darker theme which I usually go for it is on the light side. Plus there were always new locations. It may be taking place on Halloween but it can be played in any season. Overall worth playing. It's relaxing so that you enjoy the tasks and the overall outcome to the story. Satisfactorily long. Puzzles too easy as well.

Be ready to guess the riddles and puzzles from the very beginning of the game, quick wit and perfect memory will save your life without fail! If you can put aside the rather gruesome topic this is a great game and a good balance of HO plus tasks I tend to get a bit bored with pure HO. The party was really going to be a rave: solemn decorations were everywhere - numerous lanterns made of carved pumpkins grinned at their horror-stricken smiles, ugly monsters were painted at the yellowed by time wallpapers and not even a breath of wind shook the age-old oaks. Another plus. Plus there were always new locations. Once it is lost from the inventory the game is dead and needs to be reinstalled. Mini games are varying degrees of difficulty but mostly fun and intriguing. The graphics were great,scary music sets the tone,HOS were right up the middle,the puzzles were easy Sinx hard and could be skipped with no penalty,interactive map made back and forth travel a snap,good hint button,unlimited hints,refill over a short time,really interesting story,kept me involved,and great characters I cared for You can't even imagine what awaits you at the ancient farm!

This on required a lot of thinking and sometimes I found myself just Ziro on anything to see if it would react and I could move on. Example: Small mirror is placed and disappears. A complex story with lots of twists and thank goodness there is a map to help you get from place to place.

In terms of gameplay one of my favourites - I rarely review games but think this one deserves a good write up. Good one overall. Plus there were always new locations. Overall worth playing. The story was exciting right in the beginning and the plot continues to pull you along while game play keeps you busy. She was going to join the mesmerizing adventure in the company of her best friends. The Hint button can be used for HOS, actions in game play and navigation. Really good all around game The minigames ranged from easy to somewhat difficult. This on required a lot of thinking and sometimes I found myself just clicking on anything to see if it would react and I could move on. There are many portals, so use your map. Worst part were the HOG games. HO's were not too difficult. This is a game worth playing.

  1. None of which are frustrating. The visuals are great. The HO scenes are more difficult than the norm, with quite a few extra actions to perform in order to retrieve all the objects. There are not a lot of voiceovers, so in between what few there are you have to read the dialogue. I love any game that has to do with Halloween
