Midnight Macabre: Mystery of the Elephant

It was a perfect day for a walk, and Helen was out enjoying time with her daughter when something terrible happened—an evil creature kidnapped the girl! Play as Helen, a young mother trying to save her beloved Cathie, and dive into a marvelous journey filled with brilliant graphics and fascinating puzzles. Solve the mysteries of the dark castle, uncover the truth behind the mystery of the elephant, and rescue Cathie in Midnight Macabre: Mystery of the Elephant.

I'd have given visuals a 4-star rating and sounds a 1 only because I can't award less. Date published: Or silhouettes. Totally stumped on the point of the story. I Found videos pretty poor, anyway, sounds effects were awesome, some graphics done well, hidden object scenes were awful sometimes, cause i couldn't find any of em, and my eyes went to tear appart. The upshot of all this "analysis" is this: I think Visual Quality and Sound Quality deserve their own separate star rating system. When you awake, your daughter telephones and tells you she is trapped in a castle, before ringing off with a terrifying or not "Ahhhhhhhhh! Unfortunately, it's a pass at this point. But wait I am getting ahead of myself. Storyline is just OK. It is a dark one. The hint is directional, and I found it useful. Mouse worked on active areas extremely slowly - in 3-match parts it was nearly impossible to get enough points, because it did not switch diamonds half of the time. Anyway, after 3 hours i'm done with this, and it is a really big deal, so solve the problem, hug my daughter once again. In the HOS some things are interactive, but no indication at all that extra action is required.

Or silhouettes. Date published: Rated 2 out of 5 by nannieof3 from don't bother very poor storyline poor level of challenge not fun to play Date published: Rated 2 out of 5 by A1psyko from Glad I read the reviews I played the demo, read everyone's reviews and glad I did. I agree with all the comments so not going to repost them. I read all of the reviews and get a lot of very useful and helpful information from them all. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. I again have to click away in the dark and discover another puzzle which after realizing, there is no reset button; you just need to wait until it resets itself. This game has potential, but I think the developers missed some important game things like: Good instructions for mini-games, labeling items in the inventory -- rather than having to keep clicking on them to get the label for them -- hidden object scenes are too dark and objects difficult to see. It does, as the blurb, remind me of older style classic HOGs. However, the first hidden object scene let me know that this would be a maybe game. Thankfully I got to use the hint button which saved me precious time. I'm sorry for the dev's, but in this day and age this game is just not good enough. I really should start with the story which I normally would if I understood who is who.

Ottawa Midnight Macabre: Mystery of the Elephant disons

The puzzles balance the HOPs and are familiar. Music eerie but had little effect on the story or excitement about it. The mother, Helen, has to free her daughter and I suspect other children too. This game is puzzling and it's a misadventure. However I cannot say the same about this one. I agree with all the comments so not going Grim Tales: The Bride repost them. I Found videos pretty poor, anyway, sounds effects were awesome, some graphics done well, hidden object scenes were awful sometimes, cause i couldn't find any of em, and my eyes went to tear appart. Got it? For some inexplicable reason, a boy he has a rather tragic history it must be saidwho is clutching an elephant, kidnaps children. I thought the drawing and artwork were fine, done in a realistic style. After my first hidden object scene which entail rummaging through a car trunk in the semi dark with a flashlight that really is of very little use, I realized that some objects are interactive, you just need to figure out which. The hint is directional, and I found it useful. The voiceovers at first seemed quite reasonable but soon became, well And to boot the trial ended Sophias Pizza Restaurant minutes short of the hour with indications of what was to come as well as a bonus section if you bought the game. You have to do a lot of searching and clicking around in dark corners and hope you land on something.

NOT going to be wasting a free game on it or buying it. Dialoge is even worse "Cathy told about it," "What a mercy. Even though the game play was poor, it looked good while playing bad. There is not much animation anywhere in the game, least of all in the HOPs, and I miss it. But try it for yourself, you just might like it! The hidden object scenes were more difficult than the standard game, owing to a darker palette and partially hidden objects. The object of the game? All I can say is that the Mom in this story doesn't seem all that upset. I think with a lot of tweaking and work, this could be a good game. Last night I just re-played Hidden Expedition, Smithsonian and to say that graphics are good would be an injustice on my part. Cursor did not change when I clicked off the custom mode. One plus - you do not have to click on keys to turn them, just put them in the lock - finally a game gets it right! Would not recommend this game, and I play pretty much all the HOGs around. For some inexplicable reason, a boy he has a rather tragic history it must be said , who is clutching an elephant, kidnaps children. You and your daughter are enjoying a lovely day in the park when unexplainedly a young boy appears with an elephant toy.

While the story had lots of potential it did not seem to be developed well. You and Forest Mahjong daughter are enjoying a lovely day in the park when unexplainedly a young boy appears Weather Lord: Hidden Realm an thw toy. Date published: Rated 2 out of 5 by crisgori from Based on the demo only Well this game doesn't really seem to be in line Ellas Hope the high profile level of Mysfery usual BF games. Alas, it was a let down Too many HOS and mini games and not new ones at that. The graphics are just OK. She must first find her, and Midnihgt several obstacles along the way - natch! You will need to keep this in mind since the movement through the game can be jumpy at times. Nothing very new or at all difficult.

The graphics remind me of water color paintings rather blurry ones and the misnamed objects a light bulb is not a "lamp" in my vocabulary didn't help my enjoyment. Storyline is just OK. I just can't imagine playing an entire game with those dark blurry HOS. Dialogue poor in parts with words left out of sentences and voices lacking in realistic expression. In the very first HOP one of the listed items to find is a lamp. HO's weren't bad, but again, graphics weren't well done Last night I just re-played Hidden Expedition, Smithsonian and to say that graphics are good would be an injustice on my part. As I was not familiar with the developers it seemed like they had it all in the plan but tried too hard to come up to par with the newest games out there today that the execution came across with poor presentation. Sorry folks, but it is just a very poorly made HOPA game with an ambiguous story and my eyes just cant take much more. I'm sorry. Date published: Rated 2 out of 5 by Plientje from not for me! Thankfully I got to use the hint button which saved me precious time. The upshot of all this "analysis" is this: I think Visual Quality and Sound Quality deserve their own separate star rating system.

  1. Dialoge is even worse "Cathy told about it," "What a mercy. There is Helen and her daughter strolling through the park. I played it just doesn't measure up for me. I only did the demo, but regretted that. But as I said, try it first and you may feel otherwise.

  2. Alas, it was a let down Thankfully I got to use the hint button which saved me precious time. Graphics were not the greatest and it was difficult locating certain HO. She must first find her, and meets several obstacles along the way - natch!

  3. There are occasional lapses in localisation a lamp is not a light bulb. You are holding your daughter Cathie's hand so tightly that you are sucked into the portal as well! Better luck next time! There is a jump map that you will use frequently and the locations are well identified. Confusion wasn't cleared up in a timely manner, so I began to lose interest in her and her diary.

  4. Well now, this could have been much better! I clicked on it in several places no over-click penalty and the lamp would not "convert. The upshot of all this "analysis" is this: I think Visual Quality and Sound Quality deserve their own separate star rating system. Sorry folks, but it is just a very poorly made HOPA game with an ambiguous story and my eyes just cant take much more. I have a feeling you won't last the free hour.
